Puentes de Poder (Bridges of Power) is a multicultural arts exchange initiative and band that draws inspiration from African Diasporic, Caribbean, Indigenous, and Afro-Latin traditions. The project is significantly influenced by Nakeiltha's upbringing in Colón, Panamá, and Los Angeles, California—two cultural landscapes shaped by migration, rhythm, and resilience.
Puentes de Poder connects ancestral knowledge with contemporary expressions of original music through performances, workshops, and collaborative programs. It has been presented internationally in Panamá and Costa Rica, and has partnered with festivals, universities, community organizations, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and correctional facilities.
At its core, Puentes de Poder serves as a space for remembering, reclaiming, and reimagining culture, inviting people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds to connect with their cultural traditions, identity, and history. Here, rhythm is not only heard but deeply felt as a pathway to healing, empowerment, and collective strength.
